Coaching, Mentoring, Counseling or Therapy?

Many women ask me, “Do I need a coach, a mentor, or a counselor?” The truth is—these roles are similar in some ways, but they serve different purposes. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide which is best for your season of life.

Christian Coaching

Helping you move forward with clarity and purpose.

Christian coaching is a forward-focused, collaborative relationship where I help you:

  • Clarify your goals
  • Overcome personal and relational obstacles
  • Explore what God may be calling you to in this season

You’re the expert on your life—my role is to ask questions, guide your thinking, and help you take action, all from a Biblical perspective.

Coaching is ideal when you’re ready to grow, shift, or thrive in an area of life—without needing deep emotional healing from the past.

Titus 2 Mentoring

Sharing wisdom and lived experience in a Biblical, woman-to-woman relationship.

Mentoring is a more directive relationship. I offer:

  • Practical advice and Biblical encouragement
  • Insights from 21+ years of marriage, homemaking, homeschooling, and ministry
  • Support in areas like motherhood, being a godly wife, and managing your home

Mentoring is best when you want guidance, teaching, and discipleship in a specific area.

Counseling & Therapy

Exploring past pain and emotional struggles with professional care.

Counseling or therapy focuses on:

  • Healing from trauma, past experiences, or unresolved emotional wounds
  • Diagnosing or treating mental health conditions
  • Working through difficult relationships or childhood experiences

Counseling is past-and-present oriented. Coaching and mentoring are future-oriented.

Please note: I do not currently offer therapy or counseling at A Fruitful Home.
If you need this level of care, I’m happy to refer you to a trusted Christian counselor or pastoral therapist.
